TEA AND TOUR
January & February
Please join us for a docent-led tour by Patty Drabing, the museum director of our fabulous museum and enjoy a spot of tea every Tuesday afternoon in January and February at 2 pm.
Hear about Lois Doane, a self-taught artist who told stories about the community with her art. Learn how Maggie traveled by wagon train from Orange County Indiana to Montana. Explore the successful life of African American Ivanetta Hughes who graduated from French Lick High School in 1931 and went on to accomplish great things in her 100 yrs. Find out how Dorothy Gruber Ballard took over the local newspaper upon the death of her husband, James Logan Ballard, Jr. Ed Ballard's nephew. Learn about Persephone, Queen of the Underworld as well as circus performer Louise Cottrell and family. Louise was killed in the Great Circus Train Wreck of 1918. How did her family in West Baden Springs carry on? How did Lillian Sinclair run the West Baden Springs Hotel after her father's death? Ever wonder about our connection with the iconic movie The Wizard of Oz? Hear about these and many more stories of the women of the Valley & how they helped shape our communities.
$20 per person includes private museum tour & refreshments.
